Data Engineer - Matillion Expertise

Our multibillion-dollar client company has more than 30 business units with operations in 40 countries and are embarking on a significant digital transformation.

We are looking for a Data Engineer with around 5 years of experience in Data Engineering, Data Warehousing, and ETL development. The ideal candidate will have substantial expertise in Matillion ETL or Matillion DPC, SQL, and ideally cloud data platforms like Snowflake or Amazon Redshift.

Preference will be given to candidates already in Kuwait, however full relocation package assistance can be provided for candidates keen on relocating. Ideally previous experiences of working within Automotive, Manufacturing, Retail and F&B industries will be advantageous.

Key responsibilities to be successful:

• ETL Development: Design and implement optimized ETL processes tailored to business needs using Matillion.
• SQL Expertise: Develop complex SQL queries to extract, manipulate, and analyze data across multiple databases, including experience with indexing and PL/SQL.
• Data Processing Systems: Design and implement data processing frameworks utilizing Snowflake or Amazon Redshift.
• Data Integrity: Oversee data integration pipelines, ensuring high data quality and implementing governance policies for reliable data management.
• Data Warehousing Solutions: Create and maintain data warehouse systems to support business intelligence initiatives.
• Data Modeling: Build and refine data models to enhance data integrity and system performance.
• Cloud Platforms: Utilize cloud data platforms like Snowflake, Redshift, or BigQuery.
• Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation for ETL solutions, data models, and data workflows.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate closely with data analysts, data scientists, and other stakeholders to align data infrastructure with business objectives.
• Technical Communication: Effectively convey complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

Required qualifications to be successful:

• Experience: Minimum of 4 years in Data Engineering, Data Warehousing, and ETL development.
• Matillion Proficiency: Proven experience with Matillion ETL or Matillion DPC and knowledge of ETL optimization techniques.
• SQL Skills: Advanced SQL capabilities, including data modeling and performance optimization.
• Programming: Proficiency in Python and Bash scripting.
• Cloud Data Warehousing: Familiarity with cloud-based data warehousing solutions such as Snowflake or Amazon Redshift.
• ETL Tools: Strong background with additional ETL tools like Alteryx or Talend.
• API Development: Experience in building data pipelines from APIs and working with JSON and other data sources, including API design and integration.
• Data Architecture: Strong understanding of scalable and efficient data architecture design.
• Performance Monitoring: Familiarity with tools for monitoring performance and identifying optimization opportunities.
• Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address complex data issues.
• Communication Skills: Excellent ability to articulate technical strategies to non-technical stakeholders.
