Position Description

Looking for a Cloud Systems Engineer with 3+ years of experience with AWS to provide operational support for applications on Red Hat OpenShift (RHOS) RHEL v8 and above.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Support and maintain RH Linux and RH OpenShift -based applications/systems to ensure high availability and fault tolerance. Perform in a key role provisioning AWS services and infrastructure (ex: VPC, ELB, EC2, S3, etc.)

· Individual must be well versed in RHEL system design, administration, and troubleshooting.

· Works on complex application problems involving all phases of systems analysis to provide resolutions.

· Continually identify, leverage, and implement best practices for cloud resource deployment

· Troubleshoot and resolve customer issues via phone/email/service tickets and make recommendations based on client needs

· Regularly monitor and optimize cloud costs and efficiency across compute and storage resources

· Perform user account provisioning and role-based access controls in Active Directory and in the cloud

· Implement automation using Bash, YAML, JSON, Terraform or AWS CloudFormation to streamline operational processes

· Support monthly patching

· Support SecOps team with implementation of NIST and DISA security controls

· Provide 24/7/365 support on a rotational basis (one week on, 8 weeks off)

REQUIRED SKILLS, EXPERIENCE:

· 5+ years of System Engineering/Administration, and Operational support of RHEL based systems and environments.

· 3+ years working in AWS

· Proficiency in AWS cloud platform

· Networking and security knowledge.

· Automation skills (e.g., Bash, YAML, JSON, Terraform or AWS CloudFormation)

· Problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.

· Collaboration and communication skills.

· Implementing and supporting AWS infrastructure and Services

Most Desirable candidates will also have working knowledge and experience in one or more of the following:

• IT security and implementation of NIST 800-53 and/or DISA STIG

· Platform/Technology: AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, GitLab CI/CD

· Ability to write simple Relational Database queries.

· Automation: Terraform, Ansible, Bash
