Systems Engineer (English advanced)

At SMS Sudamerica we are looking for a Senior Systems Engineer. This is a fully remote permanent position which primarily supports customers and teams based in the GMT-7 time zone, and you must be able to commit long-term to the schedule. Strong English verbal and written communication is required for the role; you apply with an English resume to be considered.

Responsibilities

 Architect, configure, deploy, troubleshoot, and manage IT systems such as VMWare

infrastructure, Windows Servers, web servers, Active Directory, O365, and Storage Systems

 Effectively troubleshoot IT-related issues in multiple unique client environments

 Analyze system environments and provide solutions for improvement and best practices

 Monitor performance and maintain systems according to requirements

 Provide feasibility and schedule estimates in presales calls

 Participate in product research and implementation

 Provide training to technicians and other members of the team

 Plan and execute system projects

 Manage systems access

 Stay up-to-date with industry tools and practices, and upgrade systems with new releases

 Be available for occasional migrations and other needs after-hours

 Take on other responsibilities as needed

Preferred Experience:

 5+ years of experience as a systems engineer or architect

 MSP or data center experience

 Virtual Desktop Infrastructure and Management of environments such as VMware Horizon,

Citrix, and MS Remote Desktop Services of 75+ users

 VMware (vSphere, ESXi, vCenter)

 TrueNAS

 vSAN

 Security fabrics including EDR and DNS

 Databases

 Complex networks such as physical and virtual VLANs

 Various Windows operating systems and platforms

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

 Familiarity with Windows DFS/ADFS, Active Directory, Group Policies, Exchange

 Ability to operate PowerShell effectively

 Resourcefulness and problem-solving aptitude

 Knowledge of system security (e.g. intrusion detection systems)

 Knowledge of backup/recovery systems

 Experience working with software licensing and software partners.

 Experience working with different software/hardware vendor providers.

 Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline

 Professional certifications in systems, cloud, and backup

Advanced English level is a must
