Project Description:

Our client is a leading global Financial Market data provider who runs several change programs to deliver high-quality software that connects Financial Markets across the globe in a real-time, high-frequency, and low-latency data management chain.

We launched a program to provide an innovative self-service platform for business content validation of market data streams. Working in a Scrum development team, the focus will be on delivering a high-quality solution in the course of a multiyear program strategy for simplification and streamlining of data management. We aim to build an agile team that works closely with business sponsors to ensure a high-quality cloud-based platform that delivers on the needs of global data consumers.

The projects are technically challenging in a very engaging environment making the most of cutting-edge technologies covering : Java, Kotlin, Spring, Kubernetes, Kafka, Postgres SQL.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with fellow developers, financial market infrastructure experts, testers, architects and operations teams to deliver working solutions.

• Define system architecture and make high-level design decisions.

• Review code written by team members, ensuring code quality, consistency, and adherence to coding standards.

• Define quarterly goals and elaborate on the scope with the Product Owner and Business Analyst.

• Decompose scope and write technical tasks in Jira, prioritize work within the team, and ensure efficient collaboration to meet project goals and deadlines.

• Represent the team in front of stakeholders, bridging the gap between the development team and business representatives.

• Participate in the delivery to production environments, including release notes, release plans, and migrations.

• Handle production incident fixes and ensure system reliability and performance.

Mandatory Skills Description:

• At least 5-7 years of experience in Java Backend Development (for Senior)

• Strong proficiency in Java and Spring Framework.

• Extensive experience with microservices architecture.

• Proficiency in SQL and experience with databases such as PostgreSQL.

• Experience in CI/CD practices and tools such as Jenkins Pipeline.

• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes for container orchestration.

• Experience in designing and implementing cloud-native solutions, preferably on GCP or AWS.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, both verbal and written.

• Proven ability to lead technical delivery within project teams and mentor less experienced members.

• Strong understanding of performance tuning, security, and fault tolerance in distributed systems.

• Experience with Agile/Scrum development practices, focusing on writing high-performance, clean, quality code.

Nice-to-Have Skills Description:

• Experience with Kotlin and Python.

• Familiarity with financial IT and market data or reference data providers.

• Experience with high-frequency/low-latency development.

• Knowledge of cloud ecosystems such as GCP and AWS, including services like Google Cloud Functions, Google Cloud SQL, AWS IAM, and Amazon RDS.

• Experience with Apache Kafka as a messaging broker.

• Familiarity with monitoring frameworks such as Micrometer and Datadog.

• Knowledge of front-end technologies such as React, NPM, and node.js.

• Experience with actor-based frameworks like Akka or Quasar.

• Familiarity with infrastructure as code tools like HashiCorp Terraform.

• Understanding of DevOps practices and tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.

• Knowledge of RDBMS skills such as Oracle or MySQL and exposure to NoSQL technologies like MongoDB and Apache Cassandra.
