Data Engineer, Trading - Germany (EU Relocation Package)
Company
We are working with a leading energy trading firm who are passionate about leveraging cutting-edge technology that are seeking a motivated Data Engineer to be responsible for building and maintaining the data infrastructure that powers their trading algorithms.
Role
You will work closely with quantitative analysts, data scientists and software engineers to ensure that the data pipelines are robust, scalable and efficient to enhance and support systematic trading activities.
Your Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines to support algorithmic trading strategies.
- Implement data quality checks, monitoring, and alerting systems to ensure data integrity.
- Collaborate with Quant teams to understand data requirements and optimise data workflows.
- Automate data ingestion, processing, and storage processes to support real-time and batch trading systems.
- Work with cloud platforms and tools to manage data infrastructure and ensure high availability.
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for data-related code and infrastructure.
Key Skills
- 3+ years of experience in a DataOps, DevOps, or related engineering role, preferably in a trading or finance environment.
- Proficient in programming languages like Python, SQL, and data processing frameworks
- Strong experience with cloud platforms and data pipeline tools (e.g., Apache Airflow, Luigi, Kafka).
- Strong understanding of handling both event-based and aggregated time series data.
