Job Title: On-Prem SQL Server DBA (Contract)

Location: Fully Remote - MUST BE HAPPY TO WORK ON CALL

Contract Duration: 3 Months

Start Date: Monday 9th September start

IR35 Status: Outside IR35

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced On-Prem SQL Server DBA to join our team on a 3-month contract basis. This role is fully remote and falls outside of IR35 regulations. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining our SQL Server databases, ensuring their performance, availability, and security.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, configure, and maintain SQL Server databases.
• Monitor database performance, implement changes, and apply new patches and versions when required.
• Ensure high levels of performance, availability, sustainability, and security.
• Analyze, solve, and correct issues in real-time, providing problem resolution end-to-end.
• Refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes.
• Assist developers with complex query tuning and schema refinement.
• Perform scheduled maintenance and support release deployment activities after hours.
• Share domain and technical expertise, providing technical mentorship and cross-training to other peers and team members.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a SQL Server DBA or similar role.
• Experience with performance tuning and optimization (PTO), using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
• Experience with backups, restores, and recovery models.
• Knowledge of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for SQL Server.
• Experience with Windows server, including Active Directory.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to organize and plan work independently.
• Ability to work in a rapidly changing environment.
• Ability to multi-task and context-switch effectively between different activities and teams.
