Senior PHP Developer - Freelance

We are currently looking for a Senior PHP Developer - Freelance to become a valuable addition to our dynamic team! This is a part-time position, up to 4 hours per day (9:00 am to 1:00 pm Eastern Time). As a Senior PHP Developer, you will work closely with a multi-disciplinary agile team to build, maintain, and optimize web applications and APIs. You will be responsible for designing and developing high-quality, scalable backend solutions using PHP, Laravel, MySQL, and AWS, ensuring high performance and responsiveness to requests from the front end. The ideal candidate is a seasoned developer with a deep understanding of Laravel, PHP, Mysql, and API development & integration.

Responsibilities:

• Develop, test, and maintain high-quality web applications and APIs using PHP and Laravel
• Design and implement APIs to support front-end functionality and third-party integrations
• Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability
• Ensure robust security and data protection measures are in place
• Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing applications
• Develop and maintain clear and comprehensive documentation for code, API integrations, and development processes
• Collaborate with DevOps teams to manage and optimize the AWS cloud infrastructure
• Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback to other developers to ensure code quality and consistency
  
  
  

Key Skills:

Domain Expertise:

• Bachelor’s degree preferred; Computer Science, MIS, or Engineering preferred
• 5+ years of experience with PHP development, Laravel, and MySQL
• Strong experience with Laravel is a must
• Experience building, integrating, and maintaining APIs
• Proficiency with cloud services, especially AWS (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, etc.) is a plus
• Strong understanding of database architecture and design, particularly MySQL
• Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git)
• Familiarity with front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) is a plus
• Solid knowledge of RESTful APIs and third-party API integrations
• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment
