Job Description

We are seeking a talented Java Cloud Engineer willing to relocate to or currently located in Brussels, Belgium.


Introduction:

This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in cloud computing, IoT technologies, and software development, who is eager to contribute to the development and deployment of innovative cloud-based solutions.


Key Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: 6-8 years of experience in roles such as technical support, network administration, or IoT-related positions.
  • Very good spoken English is a must
  • Spoken French is a big advantage


Technical Skills:

  • Proficient in database management with SQL and NoSQL databases.
  • Solid development experience in Java JVM (including Maven), JavaScript, and microservices.
  • Scripting skills in Curl, Python, and Bash.
  • Familiarity with Docker and Azure Cloud services including AKS, Log Analytics, and Azure Container Registry.
  • Experience with IoT architectures, protocols, and networking concepts such as TCP/IP and DNS.
  • Strong background in cloud computing environments, especially Azure, and backend development using Java.
  • Advanced experience in AKS deployment using Helm charts and messaging protocols including MQTT, REST, and AMQP.
  • Prior experience with Hono & Ditto products is highly desirable.


Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable and efficient cloud-based applications and services using Java and other relevant technologies.
  • Implement and manage database solutions for data integrity, scalability, and security.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate IoT devices and systems into the cloud infrastructure.
  • Deploy and maintain containerized applications using Docker and orchestrate using Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
  • Monitor and optimize cloud resources and applications to ensure high availability and performance.
  • Stay current with new technologies and best practices in cloud computing and IoT development.
