Under the Mid-Term Management Plan initiated in FY2021, the company is building an ecosystem through its established core values and cross-industry and municipal partnerships. Within this framework, the internal IT department plays a critical role in driving digital transformations—including AI-driven drug discovery, automation and optimization of manufacturing processes, digitalization of Medical Representative (MR) activities, and data-oriented executive decision support.

The individual appointed to this position will serve as the overall IT Infrastructure Executive and quasi-CTO, holding end-to-end accountability for technology selection, infrastructure strategy, architecture design, implementation, and operations.

【Your Role】

Develop strategy and drive governance as the overall technical leader for the IT organization in Japan. As a key member of the Global Technology Team, contribute directly to global strategic direction while driving the technical empowerment, revitalization, and talent development of the local Japanese engineering organization.

【Responsibilities】

1) Local Technical Leadership & Organization Management: Lead, mentor, and strengthen the IT infrastructure team in Japan as the overall department head and technical authority.

2) Domestic Infrastructure & Service Delivery: Take end-to-end responsibility for delivering robust infrastructure, networking, and cloud services leveraged from the global IT foundation to support Japan's business requirements.

3) Global Architecture & Strategy Participation: Hold partial accountability for driving the evolution, architecture design, deployment, and operational frameworks of global IT infrastructure, actively contributing to overall global IT strategy decisions.

【Organizational Structure】

・Department: Global Digital Business Transformation Division (IT) – Japan & EAGS Region

・Headcount: ~90 employees (Mid-career hiring ratio: ~60%)

The Global Digital Business Transformation Division consists of both Regional IT and Global Function teams (Global Infrastructure, CIO Staff, etc.). Under the Japan & EAGS Region, the division is structured into four core units:

・Business Transformation Unit

・Platform Transformation Unit

・Information Security Unit

・User Engagement Unit

【Required】

・10+ years of experience in servers, infrastructure, networking, cloud, and security

・Desire to advance your career

・Experience working on large-scale projects from the requirements definition phase through to the test handover

・Experience leading projects while communicating closely with multiple stakeholders

・Ability to communicate professionally in Japanese and English (or equivalent motivation)

・Organizational management experience, including mentoring and performance evaluation (even on a small scale)
