Job Description

HR Specialist (m/f/d) | CAIP Hungary

CAIP Group is a global Tier 1 automotive supplier for premium interior components — instrument panels, door panels, and decorative trims — for leading European OEMs. We are building a new manufacturing plant in Nyíregyháza and staffing it from zero to [X] employees within [timeframe].

This is not a maintenance HR role. You will hire the workforce that starts production and set up the HR processes the plant will run on.

Your responsibilities

Recruitment — your main focus in the ramp-up phase

  • Run end-to-end recruitment for blue-collar and white-collar positions, from requisition to signed contract.
  • Write and place job ads, screen applications, conduct interviews, and support hiring managers in selection decisions.
  • Steer external recruitment partners and temporary staffing agencies against clear cost and time-to-hire targets.
  • Track and report the hiring pipeline against the ramp-up plan — management needs to see gaps before they hit the line.

Employer branding

  • Build our visibility in the Nyíregyháza labour market: job fairs, career events, vocational school and university contacts, local campaigns.
  • Position a newly arrived Chinese employer as a credible long-term choice in a competitive regional market.

Onboarding and employee lifecycle

  • Coordinate pre-employment and onboarding, including occupational health checks and mandatory documentation.
  • Prepare employment contracts, amendments, and termination documentation in line with the Hungarian Labour Code.
  • Support new employees through their integration — critical when large groups start at once.

Training

  • Organize internal and external training; coordinate schedules, participants, providers, and documentation.
  • Maintain training records and monitor mandatory qualifications, including customer- and audit-relevant requirements (IATF 16949, occupational safety).

HR administration, payroll, and reporting

  • Maintain employee data and personnel files in compliance with Hungarian law and GDPR.
  • Administer attendance, leave, and working time — including shift patterns and overtime rules.
  • Prepare and verify payroll input with our external payroll provider and resolve discrepancies.
  • Deliver headcount, fluctuation, absence, and recruitment reports to plant management and to group HR.

Processes and compliance

  • Build and improve HR policies and procedures — in a greenfield plant, most of them do not exist yet.
  • Ensure HR documentation and practice comply with Hungarian labour legislation and group requirements.
  • Support HR topics in customer audits and internal reviews.
  • Work closely with plant management, international HR colleagues, and the group headquarters.

Your profile

  • Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Economics, or comparable qualification.
  • 3+ years of generalist HR experience; strong recruitment track record, ideally with blue-collar volume hiring.
  • Working knowledge of Hungarian labour law and payroll administration.
  • Native Hungarian and confident English — you work locally and report internationally.
  • Structured and self-directed: in a ramp-up you set your own priorities before anyone assigns them.
  • Confident in MS Office; experience with an HR system or applicant tracking tool is an advantage.

Preferred

  • Manufacturing or automotive background.
  • Experience in a plant start-up or ramp-up.
  • Experience in an international or multicultural organization.

What we offer

  • The chance to build an HR function rather than administer one.
  • Direct access to plant management and to group HR; visible impact from day one.
  • Relocation support
