Salary: From £39,000 per annum (negotiable based on experience) + comprehensive benefits package

The role:
As a Product Owner within Jisc’s Data Collection Products team, you will lead the development and continuous improvement of key technology and data products that support statutory data collection services. Working closely with Product Managers, developers, analysts and stakeholders, you will manage product backlogs, prioritise features, and ensure solutions deliver maximum value to customers while aligning with Jisc’s strategic objectives. You will play a key role in driving successful product delivery, enhancing user experience, and supporting data-driven decision making across the higher education sector.
What you’ll be doing:
- Gain a deep knowledge of the sector, and work with the UX team to ensure users needs are understood and UI designs are produced (when required).
- Work with the product manager and/ or portfolio manager to ensure the essential product artefacts (as defined within the Jisc PLM framework) are in place, validated and are understood and easily accessible to the wider product team.
- Work with the product manager and other product owners supporting the product or product line to deliver a shared vision and maximise value to the business and customer.
- Work with the development team to help refine and continuously improve the development process.
- Contribute to release planning, communications, and ensure product documentation/wiki is easily accessible and transparent.
- Act as liaison between the development team and stakeholders. Bridge the gap, remove ambiguity, and ensure the flow of information is efficient.

What we are looking for:
- Demonstrable experience in working in a product role in an agile environment.
- A good understanding of the stages of development.
- Knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite (Teams, Excel, Word, PowerPoint etc.)
- Ability to follow the principles of Agile development.
- Ability to translate the general product vision into specific product features and implement long-term planning through road mapping.
