Position Overview
Our partner is seeking an experienced Intelligent Automation Team Lead to support a growing portfolio of enterprise modernization and automation initiatives within the Defense sector.
This role will provide technical and delivery leadership for a team of engineers responsible for designing, developing, testing, implementing, and supporting intelligent automation solutions. The Team Lead will work across financial management systems, ERP platforms, cloud and data environments, enterprise applications, analytics technologies, and emerging artificial intelligence solutions.
In addition to hands-on technical leadership, this position will guide automation strategy, mentor engineers, facilitate Agile delivery, collaborate with client and technical stakeholders, and help ensure solutions are scalable, secure, maintainable, and aligned with business objectives.
The ideal candidate has a strong technical foundation in intelligent automation, robotic process automation (RPA), software development, data integration, and cloud technologies, along with demonstrated experience leading technical teams in an Agile environment. Experience with platforms such as UiPath, Automation Anywhere, Blue Prism, or Microsoft Power Automate and familiarity with federal or Defense environments are highly preferred.
Position Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, testing, deployment, and ongoing support of intelligent automation solutions that improve financial and operational business processes.
- Provide technical leadership and oversight for automation initiatives, ensuring solutions align with business objectives, enterprise architecture standards, security requirements, and project priorities.
- Lead assessments of business processes to identify high-value automation opportunities, evaluate process maturity, and develop automation roadmaps.
- Guide engineers in analyzing existing workflows, redesigning business processes, and implementing scalable automation solutions within enterprise technology environments.
- Oversee the development and maintenance of RPA and intelligent automation workflows using modern automation frameworks and engineering practices.
- Integrate automation solutions with enterprise applications, databases, APIs, ERP and financial systems, reporting platforms, and cloud-based data environments.
- Lead Agile delivery activities, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, user story development, sprint reviews, retrospectives, and iterative solution delivery.
- Facilitate Agile ceremonies, coordinate cross-functional teams, identify and remove delivery blockers, and help ensure project milestones are achieved.
- Use Jira or similar Agile project management tools to manage workflows, requirements, development activities, project progress, and delivery transparency.
- Collaborate with client leadership, business stakeholders, system owners, technical teams, and program management to define requirements and ensure successful solution delivery.
- Establish and promote automation engineering best practices, governance standards, quality controls, and operational processes.
- Mentor automation engineers and other project team members through technical guidance, code and design reviews, and knowledge transfer.
- Review automation designs, code, testing artifacts, and technical documentation to ensure quality, maintainability, security, and alignment with established standards.
- Lead troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement efforts for production automation solutions.
- Support risk assessments involving internal controls, business process reengineering, configuration management, compliance, and automation governance.
- Develop and maintain architecture diagrams, solution designs, process documentation, testing strategies, implementation plans, and operational support materials.
- Coordinate with project leadership on delivery milestones, resource planning, priorities, client communications, and successful execution of automation initiatives.

- 5+ years of experience designing, developing, implementing, and supporting automation solutions, enterprise applications, data integrations, or software development initiatives.
- 1+ year of experience serving as an Agile Team Lead, Scrum Lead, Technical Lead, Automation Delivery Lead, or similar role responsible for guiding technical teams through Agile delivery cycles.
- Demonstrated experience leading technical teams, mentoring engineers, and delivering enterprise automation solutions.
- Strong experience with Agile methodologies and practices, including Scrum, sprint planning, backlog refinement, user stories, acceptance criteria, sprint reviews, retrospectives, and iterative delivery.
- Experience using Jira or similar Agile project management tools to manage development workflows, requirements, project activities, and delivery progress.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Data Analytics, Business Information Systems, or a related technical field. Equivalent professional experience may be considered.
- U.S. citizenship and an active Secret clearance. Clearance sponsorship may be available for qualified candidates.
- Strong technical experience with intelligent automation, robotic process automation (RPA), software development, data integration, or cloud technologies.
- Hands-on experience with RPA platforms such as UiPath, Automation Anywhere, Blue Prism, Microsoft Power Automate, or similar technologies.
- Programming or scripting experience using Python, SQL, JavaScript, or similar development technologies.
- Experience integrating enterprise applications, databases, APIs, reporting platforms, and cloud-based data environments.
- Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC), including requirements gathering, solution design, development, testing, deployment, documentation, and production support.
- Experience translating business requirements into technical solutions and leading automation initiatives from concept through implementation.
- Experience developing technical documentation, solution designs, process workflows, testing plans, and operational support materials.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with technical teams, business stakeholders, project leadership, and client organizations.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, coordinate delivery efforts, and meet project objectives within established timelines.

- Experience developing automation strategies, governance frameworks, operating models, and enterprise automation roadmaps.
- Experience with process mining, business process reengineering, workflow optimization, or automation opportunity assessments.
- Understanding of data quality management, validation, reconciliation, interface monitoring, and enterprise data governance practices.
- Familiarity with artificial intelligence, generative AI, machine learning, or agentic AI solutions and their application to intelligent automation.
- Experience supporting digital transformation, enterprise modernization, cloud migration, or other large-scale technology initiatives.
- Experience working within federal, Department of Defense, financial, or other highly regulated environments.
- Familiarity with internal controls, compliance requirements, and governance frameworks within federal or Defense environments.
