The Role
The IT Auditors support over 150 audit staff members in their financial audits for IT based audits including banks and financial institutions, internet gaming entities and insurance companies. The IT Audit Senior will be supporting KPMG Malta IT Audit teams and reporting to the Manager.
Responsibilities
- IT Audits: Conduct thorough audits of IT systems, platforms, and technologies to assess their effectiveness, security, and compliance with organizational standards and regulatory requirements, including Service Organization Control (SOC) reporting and ISAE 3402/SSAE18 assurance engagements;
- IT Assurance for Financial Audits: Contribute to IT assurance efforts supporting financial audits, including Service Organization Control (SOC) reporting and ISAE 3402/SSAE18 assurance engagements;
- Data Analytics and Automation: Utilize data analytics and automation tools to enhance audit efficiency and bring innovative solutions to the auditing process;
- Crypto and Blockchain Audits: Performing reconciliations for crypto trades on various platforms back to client records;
- Client Engagement: Work directly with both local and international clients across various industries, including gaming and financial institutions, applying IT audit expertise to evaluate technology and cybersecurity controls in diverse environments; and
- Team Collaboration and Mentoring: Be part of a dedicated IT Assurance team, mentor junior staff, deliver training sessions to enhance team knowledge, and report to management on audit findings and progress.

Requirements
- At least 2 years of relevant experience supporting financial audits with a Big 4 firm, preferably on engagements based on International Standards on Auditing (ISAs). Candidates with equivalent industry experience are also welcome, provided they have prior Big 4 experience;
- Experience working as an IT Audit Senior in supporting financial statements through GITC and automated control reviews;
- A degree in Accounting or IT related field of study;
- Strong verbal and written English communication skills; and
- Willingness and availability to relocate to Malta (Europe).
Personal Attributes
- A degree in Accounting or IT related field of study
- CPA certification or equivalent
- Experience on Service Organisation Control (SOC) reports, preferably the International Standard on Assurance Engagements (ISAE) 3000 and 3402, or alternatively, the US versions, such as the SSAE 18.
