With 100% renewable energy, we build, own and operate our data centers and take pride in being at the forefront of sustainable solutions for the ever-evolving applications of high-performance compute. We believe that human progress is invaluable, but it should be done in the right way – responsibly, sustainably and having a positive impact on the communities we operate in.

As we scale rapidly globally, the Head of Total Rewards will define and lead IREN's global compensation, equity, benefits and mobility strategy. This is a senior leadership role owning the total rewards function end-to-end and building it for scale in a competitive AI-infrastructure market. The role leads and develops a specialist team, setting the vision, priorities and standards for the function.

Reporting to the VP, People & Culture, the Head of Total Rewards serves as IREN's most senior subject-matter authority on rewards. The role acts as a trusted advisor to executive leadership and the Compensation Committee, partners closely with Finance, Legal and the broader People & Culture leadership team, and is accountable for the governance, competitiveness, compliance and financial stewardship of all rewards programs globally.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute IREN's global total rewards strategy, ensuring compensation, benefits, equity and mobility programs support business growth, talent attraction and retention across all regions.
  • Serve as the senior rewards advisor to the VP, People & Culture, executive leadership team and Compensation Committee on compensation strategy, executive rewards, governance and market trends.

  • Develop and evolve globally competitive benefits, retirement and wellbeing programs that meet the needs of a diverse and geographically distributed workforce.
  • Establish and oversee IREN's global mobility and immigration framework, enabling the efficient movement of talent across jurisdictions while ensuring compliance and a positive employee experience.
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition, Finance, Legal and business leaders to support workforce planning, international expansion and the entry into new markets.
  • Lead rewards due diligence and integration activities for acquisitions, ensuring successful harmonization of compensation, benefits and mobility programs.
  • Own the total rewards budget and financial planning processes, including compensation cost modelling, forecasting and workforce investment analysis.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable compensation, benefits, tax, employment, securities and immigration regulations across all jurisdictions.
  • Leverage data, analytics and technology to provide executive insights, inform decision-making and continuously improve rewards effectiveness.
  • Build and lead a high-performing global Total Rewards team, fostering capability, innovation and operational excellence.

Requirements:

  • 15+ years of progressive compensation, equity and benefits experience, including significant experience leading the total rewards function at a high-growth or publicly listed company.
  • Proven people-leadership experience, including managing and developing senior individual contributors and other people leaders (eg. Director- and Manager-level rewards professionals).
  • Deep expertise across the full rewards spectrum - compensation design, job architecture, incentive plan design, equity/long-term incentive administration, benefits and global mobility.
  • Demonstrated experience advising executive leadership and Compensation Committees, including executive compensation and board-level reporting.
  • Experience operating across multiple jurisdictions; strong working knowledge of multi-jurisdiction compensation, benefits and pay-equity requirements.
  • Strong commercial and analytical acumen, including compensation cost modeling and budget ownership; advanced proficiency with HRIS and analytics tools (HiBob experience an asset).
  • Executive presence and outstanding communication skills, with the ability to influence at the most senior levels and make complex rewards concepts clear to any audience.
