Job Description
You’ll be the first Android Engineer at Rune Labs and start building an app from the ground up on your first day. This means you’ll be the go-to expert at Rune on all things Android.
You won’t be alone, but work closely with the iOS team to help build shared layers and libraries.
Minimum Requirements
We’re open to a variety of profiles, from full-stack backgrounds to deep Android experience to cross-mobile work. To do well though, we think you’ll at least need:
- 5+ years of programming experience
- Professional experience with Kotlin
- A track record for developing and releasing apps in production
- Experience with Agile Development or experience at a Startup
- Clear, thoughtful communication: Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Design before code: Experience writing and sharing ideas through RFCs, design docs, or technical specs
- Modern tooling: Use of agentic tooling to extend your abilities, while maintaining a deep, foundational understanding of the underlying code.
- Autonomous & collaborative: Eagerness to work closely with teammates, while being comfortable taking a project on solo.

- Experience in regulated industries
- Strong product sense, and ability to work closely with Product Managers
- Experience launching an Android app in an organization with an existing iOS app
- You must reside in and be authorized to work in either the U.S. or Canada.
- We are a fully remote team within the U.S. and Canada. We require everyone to be available for collective team meeting hours from 9am - 2pm Pacific Time (12pm - 5pm Eastern Time) daily.
- Salary ranges displayed reflect the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, relevant education or training. We typically make offers near the midpoint of the posted salary range. Role depends on experience
- For a U.S.-based employee:
- Senior Mobile Engineer: $175,000 - $185,000 (USD) + equity
- For a Canada-based employee
- Senior Mobile Engineer: $175,000 - $195,000 (CAD) + equity
