About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Developer specializing in WordPress and full-stack development to join our dynamic team. This role involves developing resilient, scalable, and secure code capable of supporting high-profile websites and handling intense traffic loads. The ideal candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams including product managers, designers, and other developers to architect and implement innovative solutions. You will be responsible for maintaining existing applications, developing new features, and ensuring the overall quality and performance of our web platforms. This position offers the flexibility of remote work, provided the candidate is based in the United States and adheres to US business hours.

Qualifications

The successful candidate should possess a minimum of 5 years of experience working within the WordPress ecosystem, with at least 2 years in a leadership role guiding technical teams and mentoring junior developers. A strong background in React development spanning over 2 years is essential, along with a thorough understanding of the product development lifecycle. Candidates must demonstrate expertise in modern PHP, including autoloading, dependency management, dependency injection, templating, automated testing, object-oriented programming, and frameworks such as Symfony or Laravel. Additionally, proficiency in vanilla JavaScript (ES2015+), Webpack, Babel, and advanced HTML & CSS (including Sass/PostCSS and BEM methodology) is required. A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or related fields, or equivalent professional experience, is necessary. Preferred qualifications include experience with developing blocks for the WordPress Block Editor, CI/CD pipelines, accessibility standards (WCAG 2.0+ AA, Section 508), and full-stack development skills.

Responsibilities

Your primary responsibilities will include developing and maintaining robust software solutions that support high-traffic websites, collaborating with stakeholders to gather and understand requirements, and translating these into technical specifications. You will create, review, and update comprehensive technical documentation to ensure clarity and consistency. Staying current with emerging technologies and industry best practices is essential to continuously improve our systems. You will write automated tests to validate code functionality, execute bug fixes, and measure the effectiveness of implemented solutions. Participating in troubleshooting and triaging issues, documenting problems, and providing timely resolutions will be part of your routine. Additionally, you will contribute to code reviews, mentor junior team members, and support the overall technical strategy of the organization.
