Position Overview
As a Senior Performance Test Engineer, you will own end-to-end performance testing across enterprise-grade applications, ensuring systems meet scalability, reliability, and throughput benchmarks. You will design and execute load and stress test strategies using JMeter, while leveraging Datadog for real-time observability, bottleneck identification, and performance reporting. This role directly influences the quality and resilience of client-facing platforms across the company's global delivery engagements.

- Design, develop, and execute performance test plans, load tests, stress tests, and soak tests using JMeter for web/API and microservices-based enterprise applications
- Instrument and monitor application performance metrics — latency, throughput, error rates, CPU/memory utilization — using Datadog dashboards and APM
- Analyze Datadog traces, logs, and metrics to identify performance bottlenecks and root causes, and collaborate with development teams on remediation
- Define performance SLAs/SLOs in alignment with client requirements and validate system behavior under peak and sustained load conditions
- Integrate performance tests into CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous performance validation
- Produce detailed performance test reports with findings, trends, and actionable recommendations for engineering and stakeholder teams
- Contribute to performance testing best practices, frameworks, and reusable test asset libraries across the company's quality engineering practice
Must Have Criteria
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in performance testing
- Proven experience with JMeter, including scripting, parameterization, and distributed load execution
- Hands-on experience with Datadog for application monitoring — APM, dashboards, log management, and alerting
- Proven ability to correlate Datadog observability data with JMeter load test results to diagnose and resolve performance issues
- Experience defining and validating performance SLAs/SLOs for web or API-based enterprise applications
- Hands-on experience integrating performance tests into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, or equivalent)
