Job Summary
Overall Purpose:
The job holder is responsible for supporting enterprise architecture activities through the design of technology solutions across projects, products, systems (including applications, technologies, processes and information), shared infrastructure services and shared application services. The role ensures that solutions are well-integrated and aligned with the Bank’s technology landscape, enabling seamless operation. The Solutions Architect shall act as a bridge between the Bank’s various development teams and enterprise architects, ensuring that solution design and development align with the Bank’s business goals and follow the enterprise architecture artifacts defined for the specific project. The job holder shall oversee software solutions designs and verify that they comply with governance controls and enterprise architecture principles.

Key Responsibilities
The job holder will be responsible for:
- Creating solution designs for development teams that guide the implementation stages of each project emphasising the need for cohesive solutions through integration between the different systems.
- Creating comprehensive technical documentation including system architecture diagrams, API interfaces, data models and process flows.Â
- Evaluating and selecting appropriate technical solutions and platforms whilst ensuring that the solution meets performance, scalability and security requirements.
- Supporting business owners and IT Custodians in end-of-life product decisions to maintain, refresh or retire services or systems, including applications, technologies, processes and data.
- Keeping abreast with new and emerging technologies including cloud computing platforms, artificial intelligence and fintech platforms and evaluating their potential within the organisation’s IT landscape.
- Facilitating effective communication across various cross-functional teams within the Bank’s IT Department including detailing the solution, verifying technology assumptions, assessing implementation alternatives and reaching a consensus on the final solution.
- Ensuring optimal performance, security and cost-efficiency by proposing solutions based on best practices and through ongoing monitoring and re-alignment of the system architecture.
- Ensuring that all system designs and implementations comply with the relevant enterprise architecture, data and information security governance controls and policies.

Previous proven work experience of four (4) years in IT architecture, software development, cloud solutions, Power Platform, Java/.NET systems or relevant area AND an MQF Level 5 Award in Software Engineering or related field.

Desirable Criteria
Work Experience:
- Experience in designing and implementing solutions using, Microsoft Power Platform, Cloud technologies and Enterprise-grade applications using Java and/or .NET
- Exposure to hybrid architecture environments combining low-code platforms with custom development.
- Participation in architecture review boards or technical design authority forums.
- Experience in cross-functional project teams, including collaboration with business analysts, developers, and infrastructure teams.
- Familiarity with Agile or DevOps delivery models and tools (e.g. Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines).
- Involvement in projects requiring integration with legacy systems and modern APIs.

Education:
- A full and related Bachelor’s degree (MQF Level 6) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a closely related field
- Postgraduate qualifications (e.g. Master’s degree - MQF Level 7) in a relevant technical or architectural discipline are considered an asset
- Recognised certifications in relevant areas, such as:
- Microsoft Certified: Power Platform Solution Architect Expert
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
- TOGAF® Certification (Foundation or Certified)
- Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) or equivalent Agile certification
- Java or .NET development certifications (e.g. Oracle Certified Professional, Microsoft Certified: .NET Developer)
