Job Description
About Our Client
Our client develops leading application platforms worldwide, driven by a mission to build successful businesses while making a positive impact on society by improving efficiency.
They continue to pursue this mission by developing new, high-quality applications for emerging use cases, as software becomes ever more deeply integrated with AI.
Their team is exceptionally talented, highly driven, and committed to excellence in both engineering and product, all within a very flat structure. Everyone is expected to stay hands-on and contribute directly to the company's mission.
About The Role
Our client is seeking a hands-on Head of HR to lead and manage the entire human resources function across their global organization. This is a fully remote position.
The role spans employees in Malaysia, Thailand, Japan, Indonesia, Hong Kong, China, the UK, and the US, covering both onsite and remote teams. You will take ownership of establishing, operating, and scaling the HR function within a fast-moving, high-growth setting.
This is not a role limited to management, strategy, or policy. You will be expected to drive execution directly, especially around hiring, performance management, leadership support, and complex people issues, while gradually developing the systems and a lean, high-caliber HR team beneath you. You will collaborate closely with founders and senior leaders, serving as both a trusted leader and a practical problem solver.
What you will be doing
- Take full ownership of the global HR function from start to finish, spanning Talent Acquisition, HR Business Partnering, Employee Engagement, Learning and Development, Payroll, Compensation and Benefits, and HR Operations.
- Directly lead and support key hiring across technical, commercial, and corporate positions, maintaining quality, speed, and consistency across every region.
- Work hand in hand with founders and senior leaders on organization design, workforce planning, performance management, succession planning, and leadership development.
- Establish and run performance management, feedback, and development frameworks that are straightforward, practical, and genuinely used by managers.
- Lead employee engagement efforts that reinforce alignment, retention, and execution, without introducing needless bureaucracy.
- Serve as a practical HRBP for senior leaders and managers, guiding everyday people decisions, performance matters, and organizational shifts.
- Oversee global payroll, compensation, benefits, and employment arrangements, ensuring accuracy, fairness, and compliance in every country.
- Handle HR compliance, employment contracts, policies, and statutory obligations across multiple jurisdictions, partnering with external advisors or EORs as required.
- Build and steadily refine HR processes and systems that grow with the business rather than holding it back.
- Recruit, mentor, and grow the HR team over time, with a strong emphasis on ownership and execution.
