Junior AI Support Specialist

We are adding a new team member to assist with a project for a major Manchester-based infrastructure consultancy. This client is currently integrating several internal AI tools to help manage their engineering documents and project logs, and they need practical support to keep these systems running smoothly. As a Junior AI Support Specialist, you will help bridge the gap between the software we build and the people who use it every day to manage large-scale construction and infrastructure projects.

The Role
This is a full-time, permanent position designed for someone starting their career in the software or AI space. Because we are a remote company, you will work from your own space while staying connected with our lead developers through regular check-ins and shared documentation. Your main task is to support the users at the infrastructure consultancy as they interact with AI-driven tools. This is not about writing complex algorithms: it is about making sure the AI is doing what it is supposed to do for the people on the ground.
You will spend a lot of your time testing prompts to see which instructions get the best results from the language models we use. When a user reports that the AI gave a strange or incorrect answer about a project specification, you will investigate why and help us adjust the system. You will also help with data cleanup, ensuring the information being fed into the AI is accurate and well-organized. This role is essential for making sure the technology actually helps the client instead of creating more work for them.

What You Bring
We are looking for someone who is curious and organized. You do not need a computer science degree, but you should be very comfortable using different software tools and have an interest in how AI models like GPT or Claude work in a professional setting. You need to be a clear communicator who can explain technical steps to people who are not software experts. Since this role involves a lot of testing and refinement, being patient and having a good eye for detail is important.
We value people who are okay with work that is not always flashy. A lot of this job is checking outputs, updating spreadsheets, and writing clear guides for users. You should be someone who enjoys getting a system to work correctly and feels good about helping a project manager find the information they need ten times faster than they could before.
