About the Company
We are Fourstroke, an Amsterdam-based quantitative trading firm operating across global digital asset markets. We develop and operate systematic market-making strategies, combining research, engineering, and machine learning into a single integrated platform. Since our founding in 2021, we have built a successful, fully automated trading operation active across hundreds of markets and multiple exchanges. We operate with a small, highly technical team (7p) and continue to push the performance and sophistication of our systems further. To support this expansion, we are looking for a talented quant trader to join us.
About the Role
You’ll work at the intersection of quantitative research and live trading across global crypto markets, with direct impact on strategy performance and execution. You will work closely with quantitative researchers and software engineers, combining rigorous analysis with practical trading judgement to turn ideas into robust production improvements.
Responsibilities
- Research and improve systematic market-making and short-horizon strategies.
- Analyze high-frequency data, order books, fills, and execution quality.
- Identify new signals and validate them with robust statistical methods.
- Build backtests and simulations that reflect live market conditions.
- Turn research into production trading logic with our engineers.
- Monitor live strategies and optimize execution, parameters, and risk.
- Support portfolio construction, new markets, and day-to-day trading operations.

Qualifications
- BSc / MSc in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Physics, or a related field.
Required Skills
- 2+ years in quantitative trading or research, ideally in market making or HFT.
- Strong foundations in probability, statistics, time series, and optimization.
- Strong Python and large-dataset skills (e.g. Databricks).
- Strong trading intuition and practical knowledge of market microstructure, execution, liquidity, exchange dynamics, and trading-risk.
- Commercially minded, with the common sense to challenge assumptions and separate genuine opportunities from noise.
- Decisive and comfortable owning ideas from research through live production in a lean team.
- Curious about AI-native research tools (e.g. Claude Code, Codex).
- Enjoy working in small, highly technical teams.
- Curiosity and genuine enthusiasm for trading and digital assets.
