Telespazio Belgium has an on‑site service at ESTEC in the Netherlands, and we are looking for a highly skilled Cyber Security Engineer to work there.
Candidates must be eligible for a security personal clearance from an EU Member State national security administration
What Is Expected From You
- Provide technical support in ESA laboratories in the area of security/cyber security, for security assessment and hands-on testing purposes of any kind of technologies of ESA interest. These can include hardware, software, network protocols, etc.
- Provide support to ESA projects and missions in the area of cybersecurity, including (but not limited to):
- Provide system security design expertise in the areas of security monitoring, network design, prevention measures, hardware and software vulnerability corrections and mitigations.
- Support system/sub-system reviews on security aspects, ensuring implementation of applicable cyber security requirements, including patching policy, hardening guidelines, and applicable standards.
- Analyse vulnerabilities, assess their impact, and propose suitable security mitigations and countermeasures.
- Follow and confirm the correct implementation of cyber security measures, during industry during development, deployment and maintenance;
- Support progress meetings with Industry and ESA internal team coordination

- A Master or PhD degree or equivalent in Computer Science, or Cyber Security with a strong knowledge and experience in Security engineering / cyber security.
- Security Certifications (OSCP, SANS) is a plus.
- Very good knowledge of hands-on security assessment methods, techniques and tools (including fuzzing, vulnerability assessment, etc.).
- Knowledge in network and telecommunication protocols (e.g. TCP/IP, 5G stack, etc.).
- Knowledge on hardware and software security (including operating systems).
- Knowledge of applied cryptography.
- Knowledge of space systems and ground systems architecture is a plus.
- Experience in security architecture (use of security products), computer security, network security, cybersecurity and hardening;
- Experience in applying system engineering principles, processes, and standards (including security standards);

- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously;

- Eligible for security clearance from contractor’s national security administration (EU country).
- A 6-month contract, extendable to 1 year

You will be working within ESTEC, the European Space Agency’s offices in the Netherlands as a contractor for Telespazio Belgium. We don’t expect the employees to be on-site full time however you will still have to relocate to the Netherlands for this position.
