Your Role

As a Full Stack Engineer at SLY, you will play a pivotal role in developing and maintaining our cutting-edge platform. You’ll work across the entire technology stack, from front-end interfaces to back-end services, ensuring a seamless and robust user experience.

Your Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable web applications that are both user-friendly and technically robust.
  • Work across the full technology stack, from front-end frameworks (e.g., React, Angular) to back-end services (e.g., Node.js, Python, Ruby on Rails).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
  • Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code, ensuring high performance and responsiveness.
  • Implement security and data protection measures across the platform.
  • Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability.
  • Troubleshoot and debug issues across the stack to maintain the health and performance of the platform.
  • Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends, continuously integrating new knowledge into your work.
  • Leverage GIS technologies to enhance spatial data processing, visualization, and analysis within our wildfire detection system.
  • Write clean, well-documented code, and actively participate in code reviews to maintain high code quality standards.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 2-5 years of experience in full stack development, with proficiency in both front-end and back-end technologies.
  • Strong knowledge of front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern frameworks like React or Angular.
  • Proficiency in back-end languages like Node.js, Python, or Ruby on Rails, and experience with databases (SQL, NoSQL).
  • Familiar with Pangeo stack (Primarily Jupyter Hub, Dask, Xarray, Zarr, and HDF5 file formats).
  • Proficiency in GIS technologies for spatial data processing, visualization, and analysis.
  • Experience with cloud platforms and services, such as AWS or Azure.
  • Familiarity with version control tools like Git.

Preferred Skills And Experience

  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker), and orchestration (Kubernetes).
  • Strong understanding of security best practices for web applications.
  • Experience with RESTful API design and integration.

  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
