Head of Crypto Market Making (Quant Trader) - Relocation & Visa Sponsorship Available
The Firm:
My client is a proprietary trading and HFT market making firm boasting a decade of positive track record in digital assets. It operates across 80+ centralized and decentralized venues, trading spot, perpetuals, and options, with daily volume in excess of $1bn. Trading is based in Hong Kong; core technology and quant development are based in London. The firm trades its own capital only, no client assets, no agency flow.
The Role:
The client is hiring a Head of Crypto Market Making to take ownership of the market making franchise: strategy, risk, and commercial performance of the desk, alongside building and leading the team behind it. The role carries direct input into how capital and technology investment are allocated across venues and products. This is a build-and-lead mandate rather than a seat within an existing structure.
What You'll Do:
- Own the P&L, risk, and strategic direction of the market making business across spot, perpetuals, and/or options,
- Design, refine, and scale market making and liquidity provision strategies across the firm's venue footprint,
- Build and lead a team of traders, quants, and/or quant developers - hiring, mentoring, and setting the technical bar for the desk,
- Work with the London technology hub to prioritize infrastructure investment (execution, risk systems, connectivity),
- Work directly with senior leadership on capital allocation, new venue and product onboarding, and desk strategy,
- Track shifts in crypto market microstructure, regulation, and venue landscape, and adjust strategy accordingly.

What We're Looking For:
- Track record in proprietary trading and market making; not an agency, brokerage, or client-facing execution background,
- Either hands-on experience running your own crypto market making book, or experience building and leading a low-latency/HFT (or MFT) trading team; strong traditional-markets backgrounds with a real pivot to digital assets will also be considered,
- Fluent in a C++ / Rust / Python environment, even if not writing production code day-to-day
- Solid grounding in market microstructure, risk management, and running inventory-based strategies at scale,
- Track record of building and retaining trading talent,
- Comfortable operating without an established playbook.
