Senior Quality Assurance Automation Engineer, 1-year Fixed Term Contract, $48,000-$50,000, Location: Remote (GST Working Hours)

Our client is hiring a Senior QA Automation Engineer who is passionate about quality, automation and continuous improvement. This is an opportunity to play a key role in shaping the quality strategy for innovative products while working alongside talented engineers in a collaborative Agile environment. You will become a key member of a cross-functional Agile squad, partnering closely with Software Engineers, Product Managers and Business Analysts to ensure every release meets the highest quality standards. You’ll drive automation initiatives, improve testing practices across the business and help deliver reliable, scalable software that makes a real impact. This is a fully remote opportunity, while you can work from anywhere, you’ll need to be available during Gulf Standard Time (GST/UTC+4) business hours to collaborate effectively with the team.

What you will be doing:

• Design, develop and maintain robust automated test frameworks across web, mobile and API platforms.
• Build automated regression, integration and functional test suites to improve release quality and speed.
• Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines to enable rapid, reliable deployments.
• Define test strategies, test plans and acceptance criteria for new product features.
• Continuously enhance automation frameworks to improve coverage, scalability and maintainability.
• Work closely with developers and product teams throughout the software development lifecycle.

• Identify, investigate and track defects, collaborating with engineering teams to resolve issues efficiently.
• Analyse test execution results and provide meaningful reporting and quality metrics.
• Champion quality engineering best practices across Agile teams.
• Mentor and support junior QA Automation Engineers, sharing knowledge and raising engineering standards.

We’re looking for someone who combines strong technical expertise with excellent collaboration and problem-solving skills.

You’ll ideally have:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
• 6+ years’ experience in QA Automation, ideally within Agile software development environments.
• Experience testing complex, business-critical or financial applications.
• Strong experience with web, mobile and API testing.
• Programming experience in one or more of: Golang, Python, Python Typescript, JavaScript, Dart or similar languages.

• Experience with automation frameworks such as: TestNG, JUnit, Cucumber, k6 or equivalent tools.
• Experience testing Flutter applications using tools such as flutter_test and Mockito.
• Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines and source control tools including Git, GitLab and GitHub.
• Experience using Jira or similar Agile project management tools.
• Good knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Understanding of microservices architecture and native mobile testing frameworks.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience working on high-volume B2C digital products.
• Experience within FinTech, trading, payments or other financial services platforms.
