Web Developer Intern

A Portuguese financial services provider is currently refining its internal pricing models and needs a Web Developer - Intern to support the development of tailored reporting tools. In this role, you will help build the web interfaces that allow senior consultants and clients to see how capital flows and where economic assumptions might be failing.

The Role
As a Web Developer - Intern at Blue Oak Consulting, you will be part of a distributed team working in a fully remote environment. Your work focuses on the technical side of our financial investigations, creating the digital tools that make our analysis accessible and useful. Because we are a small firm, you will interact directly with the people leading the projects, seeing firsthand how your code supports high level financial advice for a major Portuguese financial services provider. This is a role for someone who prefers logic and accuracy over decorative design. The day to day work involves building secure and functional interfaces that can handle complex data sets without losing clarity.

What You Will Be Doing

• Assisting in the development and maintenance of internal web applications used for financial data visualization.
• Writing and debugging code in JavaScript, HTML, and CSS to verify data accuracy in our reporting dashboards.
• Translating technical requirements from financial analysts into functional web features.
• Participating in the iterative testing of new tools to check they work reliably under different data scenarios.
• Providing support for data migration from static spreadsheets into dynamic web formats.
• Helping document the structure and logic of our applications for long term maintenance and clarity.
• Collaborating with the team over remote communication tools to review progress and solve technical challenges.
• Testing user interfaces for consistency and responsiveness across different devices.

What You Bring

• Foundational knowledge of front end development technologies including JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
• A strong interest in finance, economics, or business logic.
• Enrollment in or recent graduation from a degree program in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• A careful approach to work with a high degree of accuracy when handling sensitive or complex data.
• Capability to work independently while remaining communicative in a remote team setting.
• Willingness to learn the specifics of financial modeling and how web tools can support better decision making.
• Proficiency in English for technical documentation and internal team discussions.
