Backend Software Engineer

Role Description This is a full-time remote role for a Software Engineer at 10x Pentest. The Software Engineer will design, develop, test, and maintain backend services and tools that support penetration testing workflows and security automation. Day-to-day tasks include implementing new features, improving existing codebases, integrating with external systems and APIs, and ensuring performance, reliability, and security in all developed software. The role also involves collaborating with security specialists, product managers, and other engineers, participating in code reviews, and contributing to architectural decisions and technical documentation. The ideal candidate is comfortable working independently in a remote environment while actively communicating and coordinating with a distributed team.

Qualifications

• Strong foundational knowledge in Computer Science, including data structures, algorithms, and software engineering principles.
• 2-4 years of hands-on experience in Software Development and Programming, with proficiency in at least one modern programming language (e.g., Python, Go, Java, C#, or similar).
• Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts and ability to apply them in designing scalable, maintainable systems.
• 2-4 Years of experience with Back-End Web Development, including building APIs, working with databases, and developing microservices or server-side applications.

• Familiarity with secure coding practices, basic application security concepts, and interest in cybersecurity or penetration testing.
• Comfort with version control systems (e.g., Git) and collaborative development workflows.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 2-4 Years of experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
