Job Description


This is a remote position; however, candidates must reside in one of the following locations: Des Moines, Iowa; Omaha, Nebraska; or Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

We're seeking an experienced, hands-on Senior IT Security Engineer to help protect enterprise systems, data, and infrastructure. This hands-on role is ideal for a seasoned security professional who can design and implement controls, respond to threats, and partner across IT and the business to strengthen our security posture.

In this position, you will:

  • Lead root cause analysis and security investigations across endpoints, servers, network infrastructure, identity platforms, and cloud environments
  • Design, implement, and continuously improve security controls to protect data, reduce risk, and align with cybersecurity best practices and frameworks
  • Own and enhance monitoring, detection, and incident response processes—triaging alerts, coordinating containment/eradication, and driving lessons learned
  • Engineer and operationalize security tooling
  • Drive vulnerability management activities including identification, prioritization, remediation coordination, and verification
  • Lead or significantly contribute to vendor risk management activities, security assessments, and third-party control validation

We are seeking candidates who have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or Masters in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in IT security engineering, security operations, or a closely related role
  • Strong knowledge of security principles, common frameworks and practical risk reduction techniques
  • Hands-on experience with modern security tools and technologies, vulnerability management and network security controls
  • Support compliance initiatives and security standards
  • Security certifications such as CISSP, Security+, Azure/AWS security certifications are a plus
