AI Systems Engineer

For one of our clients, a rapidly growing Supply Chain Technology scale-up based in Rotterdam, we are looking for an AI Systems Engineer to help design and build intelligent systems powering the next generation of AI-driven logistics and operations platforms.

What You'll Be Working On

• Designing and developing production AI systems supporting logistics and operational workflows

• Building intelligent assistants and AI-powered decision support tools

• Developing Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) solutions using operational and enterprise data

• Integrating Large Language Models into customer-facing and internal business applications

• Building scalable APIs and backend services for AI-powered platforms

• Improving system reliability, observability, and operational performance

• Collaborating with engineering and product teams to deliver intelligent automation solutions at scale

Experience Required

• 4+ years of commercial software engineering experience

• Strong Python development skills

• Experience building cloud-native backend applications and APIs

• Experience working with Large Language Models or Generative AI technologies

• Strong understanding of distributed systems and modern software architecture

• Experience delivering production AI systems with measurable business impact

Nice to Have

• Experience with LangGraph, CrewAI, AutoGen, or similar agent frameworks

• RAG architecture implementation experience

• Vector databases such as Pinecone, Weaviate, Qdrant, or Chroma

• Kafka, event-driven architectures, or streaming platforms

• MLOps, model evaluation, and AI observability tools

• Experience in logistics, operations, supply chain, or industrial software environments
