Work Hours: India Standard Time (Team Sync-ups in PST)

Overview
We are seeking a QA Automation Engineer with hands-on experience testing Big Data applications, ETL pipelines, or large-scale data platforms. This role requires a strong combination of manual testing, automation development, API testing, SQL validation, and data verification across high-volume datasets.
Please note: This role requires prior experience testing Big Data or data-intensive applications. Candidates without Big Data, ETL, or data platform testing experience will not be considered.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and execute manual and automated test cases for Big Data applications.
- Validate large datasets, complex data transformations, and ETL workflows.
- Perform API testing, backend validation, and SQL data verification.
- Develop automation scripts using Java and/or Python.
- Create and maintain regression test suites for data-intensive applications.
- Review business and technical requirements to ensure comprehensive test coverage.
- Identify, document, and track defects through resolution.
- Collaborate with Product Owners, Developers, and QA teams to deliver high-quality software.
- Support testing throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

Required Skills
- 6+ years of experience in both manual and automation testing.
- Hands-on experience testing Big Data applications, ETL processes, or data platforms.
- Strong experience validating large datasets and complex data flows.
- Proficiency in Java and/or Python for automation.
- Strong SQL skills for data validation and troubleshooting.
- Experience with API testing using tools such as Rest Assured, Postman, ReadyAPI, or SoapUI.
- Experience with automation tools such as Selenium, TestComplete, or Protractor.
- Experience with BDD frameworks such as Cucumber/Gherkin is a plus.
- Strong understanding of SDLC, STLC, and QA best practices.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
