Job Description
The Payroll Specialist is responsible for working with the NA Payroll Manager to process the bi-weekly and semi-monthly payrolls for US and Canadian Employees for both the corporate and call center populations (approximately 1,700 employees). This extremely fast paced time sensitive position must think outside the box to help streamline processes, work to overcome systems issues and limitations, manage priorities and plan time accordingly to meet payroll timelines, while always maintaining accuracy. The call center payroll comes with many challenges including multi-state high turnover environment, large volume of transactions and complex pay calculations. This role helps shape system support to aid in managing these challenges.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Payroll Manager in processing bi-weekly payroll for contact center employees.
- Manage new hire onboarding and employee terminations within payroll systems.
- Maintain employee banking, tax, and payroll-related records.
- Administer wage garnishments, including processing and documentation.
- Upload and validate payroll files through the payroll vendor platform.
- Manage payroll-related communications, including government correspondence and the Workday Payroll Help Center.
- Respond to a high volume of employee payroll inquiries and resolve issues in a timely manner.
- Assist with semi-monthly payroll processing for corporate employees.
- Support time tracking, garnishments, pay card administration, and payroll reconciliations.
- Partner closely with HR, Finance, and Accounting teams to ensure payroll accuracy and compliance.
- Contribute to process improvements and support payroll system enhancements.

- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 4 years of payroll processing experience.
- Proven experience processing high-volume payrolls (1,000+ employees) in a high-turnover environment.
- Strong experience with U.S. payroll processing and multi-state payroll regulations.
- Experience using payroll processing systems; Workday experience is strongly preferred.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, Pivot Tables, and VLOOKUP functions.
- Strong ability to manage confidential and sensitive employee information.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to meet strict payroll deadlines.
- Experience processing both U.S. and Canadian payroll.
- Knowledge of wage and hour regulations, payroll tax requirements, and garnishment processes.
- Experience supporting a payroll vendor migration or system conversion.
- Year-end payroll processing experience, including tax reporting activities.

To ensure effective collaboration with our North American teams, this position requires alignment with U.S. Eastern Time business hours. The preferred schedule is 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM EST.
