About the Role

Our client is seeking a talented Game Developer (Java / libGDX) to join their innovative team on a contract basis. In this role, you will apply your game development expertise to help train next-generation AI systems by developing engaging 2D game features. Your work will directly influence how AI models learn, reason, and perform through high-quality, real-world game development input.

No prior experience in AI is requiredโ€”your expertise in Java and game development is what matters most.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and optimize simple 2D game features using Java and the libGDX framework.
  • Collaborate closely with AI specialists to design engaging game interactions and generate high-quality AI training data.
  • Implement fundamental game mechanics, including:
  • Game loops
  • Sprite management
  • Input handling
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize code to ensure high performance and reliability.
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to improving coding standards and best practices.
  • Document technical processes, workflows, and development practices clearly for cross-functional teams.
  • Communicate effectively with distributed team members by providing regular updates and actively seeking feedback.
  • Work collaboratively in a fully remote development environment.


Required Skills & Qualifications (Must-Haves)

  • Basic knowledge of Java programming and Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles.
  • Hands-on experience with libGDX through:
  • Coursework
  • Personal projects
  • Academic assignments
  • Game prototypes
  • Understanding of fundamental game development concepts, including:
  • Game loops
  • Sprites
  • Input management
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to produce clear technical documentation.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a fully remote team.
  • Demonstrated passion and initiative for building games or interactive applications.
  • Willingness to complete an AI interview as part of the hiring process.

Work Schedule

Candidates can choose one of the following work schedules:

  • Part-Time: 20 hours per week
  • Full-Time: 40 hours per week (for candidates available to join immediately)
