Senior Database Administrator - Infrastructure Engineer

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Analista de Infraestrutura - DBA Sênior based in Brazil.

You will join a highly technical engineering environment focused on building, scaling, and optimizing robust data infrastructure that powers large-scale digital products.

In this role, you will be responsible for designing and maintaining highly available, secure, and scalable database systems across both SQL and NoSQL technologies.

You will act as a key technical reference for infrastructure and database reliability, helping ensure performance and stability across mission-critical systems.

Your work will directly impact platform resilience, supporting high-volume customer interactions and real-time data processing at scale.

You will collaborate closely with engineering teams to implement Infrastructure as Code, automation, and observability best practices.

This is a hands-on senior role where deep technical expertise, problem-solving, and ownership of production systems are essential.

Accountabilities

• Lead the planning and technical execution of infrastructure and database projects in collaboration with engineering and product teams.
• Design and implement improvements to ensure high availability, scalability, reliability, and security of database systems.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning using Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, Ansible, and GitLab pipelines.
• Define, implement, and evolve monitoring, alerting, and observability strategies for database performance and capacity management.
• Manage and optimize SQL (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB, DynamoDB, DocumentDB) database environments.
• Architect and support large-scale, high-performance systems capable of handling high transaction volumes and customer demand.
• Perform advanced troubleshooting and incident resolution in production environments, ensuring rapid recovery and root cause analysis.
• Develop and maintain documentation, operational standards, and best practices to promote automation and consistency.
• Collaborate with vendors and external partners involved in database infrastructure and consulting services.

Requirements

• Strong experience as a Database Administrator or Infrastructure Engineer in senior-level roles.
• Hands-on experience with cloud providers (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and private cloud environments (VMWare).
• Solid experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, Ansible, and Git-based workflows.
• Advanced knowledge of SQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL systems (MongoDB, DynamoDB, DocumentDB).
• Strong Linux administration skills (RedHat, Debian, Ubuntu).
• Experience with observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Thanos, CloudWatch, and Zabbix.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash or Shell for automation and operational tasks.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills in complex distributed environments.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across technical teams.
