Job Description
Your Team
The Mission Team at Verity ensures the seamless operation of our autonomous drone fleets, enabling precise and efficient data collection in dynamic warehouse environments. We're pushing our drones toward greater autonomy, advancing 3D perception, machine vision, mapping, collision avoidance, and intelligent decision-making so every flight operates safely and reliably, even in complex, unknown environments.
What You'll Work On
- Push the state of the art in autonomous exploration and mapping of unknown 3D environments under real-time and compute constraints.
- Own the design, development, and optimization of the autonomy software that runs onboard our drones in real time, with a focus on robustness and reliability.
- Take collision avoidance and obstacle handling to the next level, ensuring drones operate safely in complex, dynamic environments.
- Contribute to the cloud backend systems that coordinate multi-drone fleet operations, bridging onboard autonomy with fleet-level planning.
- Collaborate with other engineering teams to integrate perception, planning, and flight execution into one reliable autonomy pipeline.Conduct rigorous testing and validation in simulation, on the bench, and in the field, and provide technical support to troubleshoot and resolve issues.

- MSc (or higher) in robotics, control systems, computer science, or a related field, with 4+ years of industry experience in autonomous systems or robotics.
- Strong, hands-on proficiency in modern C++ (performance, reliability, maintainability) and familiarity with Python.
- Solid foundation in robotics perception and state estimation - e.g. 3D mapping, sensor fusion, probabilistic filtering, SLAM, and machine vision.
- Experience with motion planning and/or autonomous navigation, and a good intuition for how sensing and estimation feed into safe robot behavior.
- Ability to quickly understand, navigate, and improve a large existing codebase; strong debugging, profiling, and refactoring skills on embedded systems with real-time requirements.
- Familiarity with drone technology, embedded systems, or real-time / safety-critical control software is highly desirable.
Who You Are
You are a proactive, solution-oriented engineer who combines strong analytical thinking with a pragmatic, hardware-grounded approach to building robust systems. You communicate clearly and collaborate effectively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment, and you are comfortable making progress in the face of ambiguity.
