About The Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Staff Engineer to take ownership of our streaming infrastructure and products. This role is pivotal in shaping the technical direction and architectural decisions for one of Helius's most critical and rapidly expanding products. You will not just execute predefined roadmaps but will define and drive technical strategies, solve complex problems, and ensure the robustness of our streaming systems. Working closely with engineers, product teams, and founders, you will influence the development of scalable, low-latency streaming solutions that deliver real-time Solana state changes to thousands of developers and institutions worldwide. Your leadership will ensure our systems meet high standards of reliability, performance, and operational excellence, directly impacting the success of our core offerings.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of backend engineering experience with a proven track record in building large-scale, production-grade systems
• Deep proficiency in Rust or equivalent systems programming languages
• Strong performance-oriented engineering instincts, with knowledge spanning software, Linux internals, networking, and hardware
• Hands-on experience with streaming systems such as Kafka, NATS, Flink, or Kinesis
• Proficiency in operating and maintaining production databases like Postgres, ClickHouse, RocksDB, or similar
• Operational experience owning and managing production systems with real customers
• Excellent communication and documentation skills, capable of driving technical consensus

Responsibilities

• Architect and lead the development of high-throughput, low-latency streaming systems that underpin our core products
• Define and drive the technical roadmap for streaming features, including filtered streams, webhooks, and new developer capabilities
• Lead system design discussions and make architectural decisions across software, hardware, and networking layers
• Establish standards for operational excellence, including system reliability, incident response, and observability
• Mentor and develop engineering team members, fostering a culture of technical excellence and collaboration
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Support, and Infrastructure teams to ensure product scalability and customer satisfaction
• Identify and resolve complex, ambiguous technical problems that impact multiple systems
• Ensure the streaming infrastructure remains scalable, reliable, and performant to meet growing customer demands
