Job Overview
The Band 7 Ward Manager provides professional, clinical, and operational leadership for the ward, ensuring the delivery of safe, effective, and high-quality patient care. The post holder leads and manages the multidisciplinary team, oversees staffing and resources, promotes continuous quality improvement, and ensures compliance with Trust, CQC, and professional standards. The role requires strong leadership, excellent communication skills, and the ability to drive service development whilst maintaining a positive culture for patients and staff.

- To lead by example as an expert practitioner, providing professional, clinical, educational and organisational leadership to the multi-disciplinary team within area of responsibility.
- To manage the inpatient ward ensuring patients receive safe and compassionate care and experience a great service.
- To undertake continued responsibility for the management of the ward’s patient case load.
- To facilitate the admission and discharge activity for patient pathways within the ward and participate in the organisations capacity management arrangements.
- To participate in the night rota leading own ward/team and providing clinical advice/support to junior colleagues on other wards as required.
- Be accountable for ensuring ward complies with CQC standards
- The post holder will be responsible for the efficient and effective day-to-day running of the inpatient ward and the delivery of operational performance targets (finance, activity, workforce and quality/safety)
