The Sage Groups’s Client is seeking a Marketing Automation Manager.


Are you passionate about using marketing automation to build cohesive customer experiences across all lifecycle stages?

This is an exciting time for the Lifecycle/CRM team as we are building new automated campaigns (email, SMS, push, in-app) across the entire organization with new tools.

You will be a direct part of growing our lifetime value by successfully guiding the customer from lead, to first time user, to repeat customer, to a lifetime value customer. You are constantly thinking about utilizing automation tools to build a consistent and cohesive customer experience and learning new ways to utilize best in class automation tools.

This role is a part of the Lifecycle/CRM team within the marketing department, reporting into the Director, Lifecycle/CRM. This role will be working closely with our Senior Manager, Marketing Automation.


Job Description: We are seeking a technically adept and data-driven Marketing Automation Manager to join our team. This role requires a strong background in marketing technology, campaign automation, and data analytics. You will be the subject matter expert on our automation platform, Braze, to help drive revenue for our organization.

You will have the opportunity to work with a passionate team to build the latest marketing automations & technologies and drive the development of targeted lifecycle campaigns to achieve our business goals. This role will work across a multitude of departments – marketing, technology & product, business intelligence, brand teams, and outside vendors & agencies.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Campaign Management: Plan, create, and execute automated marketing campaigns across various channels, with a primary focus on email with additional new channels like SMS and app (push notifications, content cards, in-app messaging).
  • Technology:


  • Collaborate with Technology & Product to ensure seamless integration between marketing automation and CRM systems. This includes standing up new data points to use in Braze from our data lake.
  • Partner with technology who will create customer scripts or APIs in order to enhance our Braze platform.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues in marketing tools and implement solutions.
  • Segmentation and Personalization: Utilize Braze to segment our audiences and deliver personalized content that resonates with different customer segments.
  • Testing: Conduct tests to optimize campaigns utilizing the Lifecycle/CRM testing roadmap to maximum conversion rates.
  • Data Analysis: Analyze the data within our automation tools to identify opportunities for improvement (spam rate compliance, open rate & CTR goals, deliverability, API synching, and more).
  • Compliance: Ensure that all marketing automation practices comply with relevant data protection and privacy regulations, such as GDPR and CAN-SPAM, CASL, and SMS regulations.
  • Vendor & Agency Relationships: This role will collaborate and build relationships with external automation vendors & agencies we utilize to build the success of our team.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, computer science, or a related field. A master's degree is a plus.
  • Proven experience (5+ years) in marketing automation, using platforms like Braze, Iterable, Marketo, HubSpot, Pardot, SFMC, or similar.
  • 5+ years working in ESP’s (email service provider), using platforms like Braze

or Iterable. Braze experience preferred.

  • Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for email customization.
  • Experience building and launching automated journeys (multi-channel a plus).
  • Understanding of customer journey building mapping.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools (PowerBI, Looker, Tableau).
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple campaigns simultaneously. Monday.com experience a plus.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Not afraid to respectfully share your opinion or thoughts when making key project decisions.
  • Certifications in marketing automation platforms are a plus.
  • SQL knowledge is a plus.
  • A natural curiosity for leveraging AI tools and functionality.
