Key Responsibilities
- Hardware Strategy & Roadmap: Define and own the hardware strategy across mechanical, electrical, and systems engineering, aligned with the company's broader robotics and AI roadmap.
- Team Leadership: Build, lead, and scale a high-performing hardware engineering organisation across mechanical, electrical, and systems disciplines.
- Product Development: Lead the design and development of sophisticated robotic platforms from concept through production.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with AI, robotics, and software teams to ensure hardware enables breakthrough autonomous capabilities.
- Manufacturing & Scaling: Own the transition from prototype to reliable, at-scale manufacturing and commercial deployment.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: BS, MS, or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or a closely related technical field.
- Leadership Experience: A proven track record building and leading high-performing hardware engineering teams.
- Technical Depth: Deep expertise in complex electromechanical or robotic systems design, from concept through production.
- Product Delivery: A history of taking complex hardware products from prototype to commercial deployment at scale.
- Cross-Disciplinary Fluency: Strong understanding of how hardware interacts with software, AI, and controls in complex robotic systems.
- Executive Presence: Experience operating at an executive level, shaping strategy and communicating with senior leadership and investors.
