Key Responsibilities
Serve as the primary day-to-day People Operations contact, managing employee questions, lifecycle processes, and HR system updates in a timely and accurate manner
Oversee onboarding, offboarding, employee changes, leave administration, and HRIS data integrity across the organization
Support payroll inputs, benefits coordination, and HR vendor communications to ensure smooth and accurate execution of employee transactions
Provide first-line employee relations and manager support, including guidance on performance management, documentation, feedback conversations, and policy interpretation
Triage employee issues and escalate complex or high-risk matters to leadership or legal partners when appropriate
Maintain compliance documentation, reporting workflows, and organized HR records to support audit readiness and operational consistency
Contribute to process documentation and continuous improvement efforts to strengthen People Operations during the coverage period

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Part-Time HR Generalist / People Partner Contractor (Parental Leave Coverage Contract August 2026 to February 2027) based in United States.

This is a hands-on, high-trust People role supporting a fast-moving, people-first organization during a parental leave coverage period. Acting as the primary day-to-day HR partner, you will ensure smooth execution of core People Operations while providing steady guidance to managers and employees across the business. The role blends operational HR execution with thoughtful employee relations support in a small, highly collaborative environment. You will own key lifecycle processes such as onboarding, offboarding, and employee changes while maintaining strong compliance and data accuracy. In parallel, you will serve as a trusted advisor to leaders on performance, documentation, and policy interpretation. This position requires calm judgment, strong organization, and the ability to balance empathy with business needs. It is well-suited for an experienced HR professional who thrives in autonomy and enjoys building trust quickly across teams.

Accountabilities

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in HR, People Operations, HR Generalist, HRBP, or similar roles, ideally within small or fast-scaling organizations.
  • Strong experience managing employee lifecycle processes, HR administration, and supporting payroll and benefits workflows.
  • Demonstrated ability to advise managers on employee relations topics such as performance management, documentation, and policy application.
  • Comfort operating as a standalone HR resource in a lean environment with a high degree of autonomy and accountability.
  • Strong judgment, discretion, and ability to handle sensitive and confidential employee information appropriately.
  • Excellent communication skills with a calm, service-oriented, and empathetic approach to employee and manager support.
  • Working knowledge of HRIS platforms, payroll systems, and benefits administration tools, along with basic familiarity with US employment law and escalation practices.
