Job Title: Remote Embedded Software Engineer

Job Description

Join a dynamic team in Loveland, CO, focusing on designing and developing embedded firmware solutions for water quality products in a state-of-the-art R&D facility. Engage in a collaborative Agile environment, contributing to impactful and reliable solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop embedded firmware solutions for water quality products.
  • Collaborate in an Agile team environment, participating in daily scrums and weekly development discussions.
  • Analyze requirements, estimate effort, and deliver reliable solutions.
  • Work closely with hardware, troubleshooting and debugging using tools such as oscilloscopes and digital multimeters.
  • Contribute to the growth of the firmware team and the development of new product architectures.
  • Engage in hands-on coding, building, deploying, and debugging activities.
  • Participate in technical interviews and mentor engineering talent.

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency in developing and maintaining embedded software using C++ and C for microcontrollers and platforms (Linux, RTOS, and bare metal).
  • Experience with CI/CD practices and unit testing.
  • Ability to produce technical design documentation and contribute to system architecture discussions.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 3–5+ years of experience in C++ user-space development and embedded C programming.
  • Experience with 32-bit microcontrollers and embedded platforms.
  • Strong understanding of computer architecture and memory technologies.
  • Proficiency in Agile methodologies.
  • Experience with device driver and kernel programming.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Embedded Systems Engineering.
  • Experience with Embedded Linux build systems like Yocto.
  • Proficiency with scripting languages such as Shell and Bash.
  • Knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP).
  • Experience in the water quality industry is a plus.
  • Ability to produce technical design documentation.
  • Experience working in a diverse and inclusive environment.

Work Environment

Daily activities include participating in a daily scrum at 9 am, engaging in development and debugging tasks, and participating in weekly development discussions to address system issues.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Loveland, CO.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $80.00/hr.
