About The Role

We are seeking a talented Python Software Systems Engineer to join our fully remote team. In this role, you will be instrumental in developing, deploying, and maintaining our platform to enhance its speed, security, and reliability. You will collaborate with a small, dedicated team of developers and operators to implement new features and improve existing systems. Your responsibilities will include optimizing deployment processes, ensuring system stability, and contributing to the overall architecture of our infrastructure. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment where innovation and problem-solving are highly valued. You will be expected to work independently, demonstrate strong communication skills, and be proactive in tackling challenges to help shape the future of our platform.

Qualifications

• Ability to work independently and communicate clearly with team members
• Commitment to producing robust, testable, and industry-standard code
• Strong programming experience using Python or other high-level programming languages
• Proficiency in system scripting with Python, Bash, or similar scripting languages
• Experience with configuring and administering production services
• Knowledge of developing and maintaining staging, testing, and developer environments
• Experience with software lifecycle automation, including Continuous Integration and Delivery (CI/CD)

• Ability to participate in on-call rotations and troubleshoot system failures efficiently
  
  

Nice-to-have skills include experience in building large-scale or complex multi-tenant web applications, parallelization, code optimization, Big Data operations, and familiarity with system deployment and configuration management tools such as Ansible, Chef, or Puppet.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to code quality through unit testing, integration testing, code reviews, and system design using Python
• Configure, deploy, and maintain production services, ensuring high availability and security
• Develop and maintain staging, testing, and development environments to ensure consistency and reliability
• Automate software lifecycle processes to facilitate Continuous Integration and Delivery of tested code
• Participate in on-call rotations, diagnose system failures, and implement quick resolutions to minimize downtime
• Collaborate with team members to explore different problem-solving approaches and defend implementation choices
• Engage in discussions about system architecture, design, and best practices to improve platform performance
