Backend Engineer (Python)

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Desenvolvedor (a) Backend Pleno | Python based in Brazil.

This is an opportunity for a backend engineer to play a key role in building and evolving scalable digital products within a modern e-commerce environment. You will contribute to the development of new features and the continuous improvement of existing systems, working closely with technical leadership and cross-functional teams. The role involves designing robust architectures, ensuring high performance and reliability across services, and supporting the transition toward a microservices-based ecosystem. You will also influence technical standards, participate in code reviews, and help raise the bar for engineering quality. In addition, you may engage with open-source initiatives and contribute to technical content and knowledge sharing. This is a fully remote position, offering autonomy, collaboration, and impact at scale.

Accountabilities

In this role, you will be responsible for contributing to the design, development, and maintenance of backend systems that support scalable digital products. You will help ensure system reliability, performance, and maintainability while collaborating with engineering teams.

• Develop and maintain backend services using Python (Django) and other technologies such as Node.js (NestJS) and Golang.
• Design and implement scalable, secure, and high-performance software architectures in collaboration with the team and tech leadership.
• Participate in architectural decisions, including the evolution toward microservices-based systems.
• Conduct code reviews and support the development of junior and mid-level engineers.
• Improve CI/CD pipelines, deployment processes, and cloud infrastructure automation.
• Implement automated testing strategies and monitoring solutions to ensure system stability.
• Collaborate with frontend, DevOps, and QA teams to ensure seamless system integration and product quality.
  
  

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you should bring solid backend development experience and a strong understanding of distributed systems and modern software architecture principles.

• Proven experience with backend development using Python.

• Knowledge of microservices architecture and RESTful APIs.
• Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL) and non-relational databases (MongoDB).
• Familiarity with additional backend languages such as Node.js and Golang is a plus.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes in production environments is highly valued.
• Knowledge of real-time data processing tools such as Kafka is a strong advantage.
