Job Description
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Sr. Software Developer based in the United States.
This role sits at the crossroads of legacy system modernization and next-generation AI-augmented software engineering. You will help transform large-scale ASP.NET WebForms applications into a modern, scalable React and API-driven architecture, playing a key role in shaping both technical direction and engineering standards. Beyond migration work, you will act as a technical leader and mentor, helping elevate team capabilities across frontend, backend, and DevOps practices. A significant part of the role involves integrating and championing AI-assisted development workflows, using tools such as Claude to improve productivity, code quality, and delivery speed. You will collaborate closely with distributed teams, including offshore engineers, product managers, and designers. This is a high-impact position where your decisions directly influence platform modernization and engineering culture.
Accountabilities
This role is responsible for leading modernization efforts, improving engineering practices, and enabling scalable, high-quality software delivery across a distributed development environment.
- Lead the migration of legacy ASP.NET WebForms applications to a modern React frontend and API-first backend architecture.
- Define scalable engineering patterns, reusable components, and coding standards to support long-term modernization efforts.
- Identify architectural risks and ensure migration work is properly scoped and delivered incrementally within Agile sprints.
- Champion AI-augmented engineering practices, integrating tools such as Claude into planning, coding, testing, and review workflows.
- Mentor and support engineers through pairing, code reviews, and knowledge-sharing sessions to elevate overall team capability.
- Build and maintain strong collaboration with offshore development teams, ensuring clarity in requirements and consistency in delivery.
- Establish and maintain CI/CD quality gates and automated testing practices using tools such as Playwright.
- Partner with product and design teams to translate requirements into well-structured technical solutions.
- Participate actively in Agile ceremonies, contributing to continuous improvement and delivery excellence.
This role requires strong full-stack experience with modern .NET and React ecosystems, combined with technical leadership and experience in distributed teams.
