ABOUT THE ROLE
We are supporting our client on a search for a Cloud Engineer who will be the technical owner of their cloud platform. This is a high-trust, hands-on seat reporting to the head of infrastructure with real budget, real ownership, and a clear path into Senior Cloud Engineer, Staff, or SRE leadership roles.
You will work fully remote across US time zones. We are open to senior DevOps and SRE engineers, platform engineers ready to specialize in cloud, and infra-focused software engineers who want to go deeper on AWS.
COMPENSATION
$130,000 – $170,000 base per year, plus annual bonus and equity participation.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Design, build, and operate cloud infrastructure on AWS (and adjacent services on GCP or Azure)
- Own infrastructure-as-code in Terraform across multiple environments
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and developer tooling
- Optimize cloud cost, performance, and reliability across services
- Run incident response and lead post-mortems with clear write-ups
- Partner with engineering on architecture, scaling, and migrations
- Harden security baselines including IAM, networking, secrets, and audit logging
- Mentor engineers on cloud, automation, and SRE best practices

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- 4 plus years of cloud engineering, DevOps, or SRE experience
- Deep hands-on AWS experience (EC2, ECS or EKS, RDS, S3, VPC, IAM)
- Strong Terraform and a scripting language (Python, Go, or Bash)
- Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes in production
- Comfort owning on-call rotations and incident response
- Bachelor's degree in CS or equivalent experience; AWS certifications a plus
NICE TO HAVE
- AWS Solutions Architect Professional or DevOps Engineer Professional certification
- Multi-region or multi-account AWS experience
- Familiarity with service mesh (Istio, Linkerd) or observability stacks (Datadog, Grafana, OpenTelemetry)
- Experience leading a cloud migration or major platform upgrade
