Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced IT & Cybersecurity Lead to oversee and strengthen our clients' IT infrastructure, cybersecurity posture, and technology operations. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing IT environments, implementing cybersecurity best practices, leading security initiatives, and ensuring compliance with industry standards.

This role requires a proactive leader who can balance strategic planning with hands-on technical support, ensuring the organization's systems, networks, and data remain secure, reliable, and efficient.


Responsibilities:

  • Lead the organization's IT operations, infrastructure, and cybersecurity initiatives.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain cybersecurity policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Monitor and respond to cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and security incidents.
  • Oversee endpoint security, network security, identity and access management, and cloud security.
  • Conduct security risk assessments, vulnerability assessments, and remediation planning.
  • Manage firewalls, antivirus solutions, endpoint detection and response (EDR), and security monitoring tools.
  • Develop and test business continuity, disaster recovery, and incident response plans.
  • Ensure compliance with cybersecurity frameworks and industry best practices (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, Essential Eight, CIS Controls).
  • Manage Microsoft 365 administration, Azure Active Directory, and cloud infrastructure where applicable.
  • Oversee IT asset management, software licensing, and technology procurement.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to IT team members.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external vendors to deliver secure technology solutions.
  • Maintain documentation relating to IT systems, security controls, and operational procedures.
  • Stay informed on emerging cybersecurity threats, technologies, and regulatory requirements.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in IT infrastructure, systems administration, cybersecurity, or IT management.
  • Previous experience in a senior IT, Infrastructure, Systems, or Cybersecurity leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365, Azure, Active Directory, Windows Server, networking, and cloud technologies.
  • Experience implementing and managing cybersecurity frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST, CIS Controls, or the Australian Essential Eight.
  • Hands-on experience with firewalls, endpoint security, EDR/XDR, SIEM, vulnerability management, and security monitoring tools.
  • Strong understanding of networking, virtualization, cloud security, backup, and disaster recovery.
  • Experience managing cybersecurity incidents, risk assessments, and remediation activities.
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CompTIA Security+, Microsoft Certified, Azure Security Engineer, CCNA, or CEH are highly desirable.
  • Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment.
