We are seeking an Extreme Networks Engineer with deep expertise in network packet brokering (NPB) to support critical network infrastructure initiatives. This is a day shift role focused on designing, evaluating, and documenting advanced packet broker configurations in a highly collaborative, enterprise environment. Also, there is a night shift 12am - 8am fully remote as well for more junior candidates so if you have extreme networks experience still apply.
This position is ideal for a senior-level engineer who excels in both technical design and cross-functional communication, with a strong emphasis on documentation and operational guidance.

Key Responsibilities
Packet Broker Engineering
- Evaluate existing Extreme Packet Broker (EPB) configurations and identify optimization opportunities
- Design and provision configurations for new and existing network elements
- Develop advanced packet manipulation configurations (e.g., packet truncation, filtering, replication)
Network Configuration & Optimization
- Update and manage Access Control Lists (ACLs) with new network element IPs
- Perform capacity planning and analysis to ensure network scalability and performance
- Design upgrade strategies, including bandwidth expansion and adding links to existing Link Aggregation Groups (LAGs).

Design & Documentation
- Produce detailed Method of Procedure (MOP) documents for implementation teams
- Translate high-level network requirements into step-by-step execution plans
- Ensure all designs are technically sound, scalable, and aligned with operational standards
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with engineering, operations, and architecture teams to validate new capabilities
- Lead technical discussions to ensure feasibility and alignment across stakeholders
- Act as a liaison between design and deployment teams
Escalation & Support
- Serve as the highest-level escalation point for complex network issues and break/fix scenarios
- Provide expert guidance during high-severity incidents and network anomalies
