Senior AI Governance & Platform Engineer - Microsoft Azure

Contract: 12 months (subject to extension).

Your Profile & DNA:

We are seeking an experienced AI Governance & Platform Engineer to lead the implementation of enterprise AI governance, security, and platform engineering initiatives on Microsoft Azure.

This role combines expertise in AI governance, Azure cloud, DevSecOps, platform engineering, security, and vulnerability management to ensure AI solutions are secure, compliant, scalable, and aligned with enterprise risk and regulatory requirements.

Roles & Responsibilities

AI Governance & Strategy

• Design and implement enterprise AI governance frameworks aligned with organizational policies and industry best practices.
• Develop governance processes covering the complete AI lifecycle:
• Data management
• Model development
• Model deployment
• Monitoring and lifecycle management
• Define governance standards for:
• Responsible AI
• Risk management
• Compliance
• Auditability
• Transparency
• Fairness
• Support regulatory compliance and enterprise AI governance initiatives.
• Collaborate with business, legal, security, and technology teams to ensure responsible AI adoption.

Azure AI Platform Governance

• Govern AI and Machine Learning platforms hosted on Microsoft Azure.
• Manage governance across services including:

• Implement governance controls using:

• Maintain inventory, lifecycle management, and governance of AI assets.
• Monitor AI platform usage and ensure adherence to organizational standards.

Platform Engineering & Automation

• Design and maintain platform engineering capabilities supporting enterprise AI.
• Develop reusable frameworks and tooling for:
• AI/ML pipelines
• MLOps
• DevOps integration
• Governance automation
• Implement Policy-as-Code to automate governance enforcement.
• Build dashboards and reporting tools to monitor:
• Governance compliance
• Platform health
• AI usage
• Operational risks
• Enable self-service capabilities while maintaining governance controls.

Security & Vulnerability Management

• Implement security controls for enterprise AI platforms and workloads.
• Establish continuous vulnerability management processes, including:
• Vulnerability scanning
• Risk assessment

DevSecOps & CI/CD Integration

• Embed governance and security controls into CI/CD pipelines.
• Integrate automated security and compliance checks into software delivery workflows.

• Static Application Security Testing (SAST)
• Dynamic Application Security Testing (DAST)
• Dependency scanning
• Infrastructure security validation
• Automate policy validation and compliance checks throughout deployment pipelines.
• Collaborate with DevOps teams to improve secure software delivery practices.

Stakeholder Collaboration

• Partner with AI, Platform Engineering, DevOps, Cloud, Security, and Compliance teams.
• Translate governance requirements into technical implementation plans.
• Provide guidance on AI security, governance, and cloud best practices.
• Support audits, compliance assessments, and governance reporting.

• Deliver technical documentation, governance standards, and operational procedures.

Qualification & Experience

• A Bachelor's or Master's Degree or equivalent.
• 5+ years of experience in AI Governance, Cloud Engineering, Platform Engineering, Security, or DevSecOps.
• Strong experience with Microsoft Azure cloud services.
• Hands-on experience with: Azure OpenAI, Azure Machine Learning, Azure AI Services
• Strong understanding of AI governance frameworks and Responsible AI principles.
• Experience implementing governance using: Azure Policy, RBAC, Compliance controls
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps practices.
• Knowledge of vulnerability management, security scanning, and remediation processes.
• Experience implementing Policy-as-Code and governance automation.
• Strong understanding of cloud security and identity management.
• Familiarity with enterprise risk management and compliance requirements.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
