Business Intelligence Tableau Developer

Position Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with division teams including Filing Compliance, Accounting and Reporting Quality Assurance, and Financial Analysis to gather requirements for business intelligence dashboards, reporting needs, and effective data visualizations.
• Document and analyze business requirements, working closely with Data Engineers and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to design and implement optimized data sources within the Enterprise Data Platform (Snowflake).
• Ensure data sources are designed to meet the needs of BI tool applications as well as ad hoc data queries for maximum flexibility and efficiency.

• Take a lead role in the design, development, and publishing of dashboards and analytic solutions using Tableau, ThoughtSpot, and other leading BI tools.
• Make informed recommendations regarding the integration, enhancement, or consolidation of analytics applications as well as suggestions on optimum data delivery platforms.

Essential Skills, Experience

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics/Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline, or a minimum of 3-5 years of relevant, hands-on experience in data modeling and complex dashboard design.
• Proven expertise with Tableau, ThoughtSpot, or Power BI for the end-to-end delivery of business intelligence solutions.
• Extensive experience with the business intelligence project lifecycle, including requirements gathering, data transformation, data modeling, dashboard/visualization development, user acceptance testing, deployment, and publishing of reports or dashboards.
• Exceptional SQL skills and familiarity with relational and non-relational databases, such as Oracle, Snowflake, PostgreSQL, or MongoDB.
• Advanced analytical and problem-solving acumen to address complex data integration and visualization challenges.
• Keen attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy, process optimization, and continuous improvement.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with cross-functional teams and translate technical information for business audiences.

Qualifications:

• Familiarity with at least one programming language such as Python, Java, or R is a plus.
• Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or Microsoft Azure is desirable.
• Background or exposure to financial or insurance industry datasets, terminology, or regulatory requirements is considered an asset.
• Experience working within an Agile project methodology is preferred.
