Full-Stack Software Engineer

Engagement: Permanent · Full-time · Fully remote

Location: Open to candidates worldwide, with a preference for timezones where we need more coverage. We're well covered in UK/European hours, so we're especially keen to hear from people in APAC or the Americas.

About the role

We're a small, fast-moving startup where everyone pitches in across the board. This is a flexible full-stack role for someone who enjoys building solid, reliable software end-to-end — across frontend, backend, data, and platform. You won't need to be expert in all of it: we care about strong fundamentals, good instincts, and the enthusiasm to learn where there are gaps. We hire for ability and attitude as much as years on the clock.

What you'll do

• Build and ship product end-to-end — frontend in React + TypeScript, backend APIs in TypeScript (including third-party integrations), working confidently with databases.
• Own features from scoping through delivery — building, testing, and iterating on real feedback — and help define and demo your work, not just implement to spec.

• Platform & process — security, disaster recovery and backups, CI/CD, and lightweight planning that keeps delivery predictable.
• Applying AI — pushing how we use AI in both the product and the way we build, and helping colleagues across the team get more done.
• Data & analysis — turning data into insight that guides product decisions.
• User feedback — working with our community lead to gather host and customer input through questionnaires and feed it into the roadmap.

Nothing here is fixed — areas move around the team over time, shifting with where you're strongest and where the business needs you.

What we're looking for

• Solid full-stack fundamentals — confident across the stack (React + TypeScript, TypeScript APIs, databases) and able to write robust, maintainable software.
• Potential over pedigree — early-career or seasoned, what matters is that you do good work, learn fast, and own what you take on. Demonstrated ability weighs as much as formal experience.

• Hands-on with AI — you already use it in your own work and are excited to take it further.
• Product taste — good judgement on what to build and why, and happy working directly with users and colleagues to shape it.
• Self-driven — this is a largely autonomous role, so you help set your own direction, manage your own priorities, and deliver without close oversight.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with professional English — you work well with the whole team and keep people in the loop, especially across timezones.
• Customer-focused — you genuinely care about the people using what we build, and you're happy to speak with hosts and customers first-hand and keep their needs front and centre in the work.
• Flexible and up for it — startup life means wearing lots of hats; you take that on cheerfully and roll up your sleeves wherever it helps.
• A bonus: a genuine interest in our mission — we'd love to see it.
• Also a plus: mobile development (React Native), and additional languages for working with hosts and customers (not required — professional English is what matters).
