Palette of Hope

Volunteer / Founding Team Position

Remote or Hybrid | Orange County, CA preferred

About Palette of Hope

Palette of Hope is a startup nonprofit organization using art-based fundraising to support girls’ education and help prevent child marriage. Through exhibitions, auctions, interactive installations, and community-centered events, we turn creative experiences into meaningful impact.

About the Role

Palette of Hope is looking for a Social Media & Content Lead to help build and manage the organization’s online presence from the ground up. This role is focused on creating content that communicates our mission, promotes future events and campaigns, and helps people understand who we are as a student-led nonprofit. The Social Media & Content Lead will help create posts, captions, short-form videos, graphics, announcements, and promotional materials while maintaining a consistent visual style and tone across our platforms.

As a founding team member, you would play an important role in shaping how Palette of Hope presents itself to the public, grows its audience, and builds awareness within the broader community.

Responsibilities include:

  • Managing Palette of Hope’s social media platforms and overall digital presence.
  • Working closely with the Lead of Marketing & Brand Strategy to make sure all content aligns with the organization’s messaging, branding, and long-term growth strategy.
  • Developing and maintaining a content calendar for announcements, recruitment, fundraising campaigns, partnerships, and events.
  • Writing clear captions, posts, and promotional content that present our mission, events, and campaigns in a professional and engaging way.
  • Creating graphics for social media, recruitment campaigns, fundraising initiatives, presentations, flyers, posters, and event materials.
  • Establishing and maintaining a consistent visual identity and branding across all platforms.
  • Designing promotional campaigns leading up to fundraising events and major initiatives.
  • Tracking engagement metrics and identifying opportunities to improve reach and visibility.
  • Assisting with website content and other digital communications as the organization grows.

Qualifications

  • Current college student, graduate student, or recent graduate preferred.
  • Interest in social media, content creation, marketing, communications, public relations, nonprofit work, or related fields.
  • Strong written communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Comfortable creating content for social media platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, or similar platforms.
  • Experience with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, CapCut, or other content creation and design tools is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and manage responsibilities with minimal supervision.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Willingness to collaborate with other members of the leadership team and contribute ideas.
  • Passion for Palette of Hope's mission and a genuine interest in helping build a nonprofit organization from the ground up.
  • Previous experience in social media management, content creation, marketing, graphic design, photography, videography, student organizations, or nonprofit work is a plus, but not required.

Time Commitment

Approximately 3–5 hours per week, with additional time during event planning periods, sponsorship outreach, or partnership campaigns.

Additional Information:

  • This is a founding leadership position within a student-led nonprofit organization that is currently being built from the ground up.
  • All leadership roles are voluntary, and there is currently no financial compensation.
  • Current students, graduate students, and recent graduates are encouraged to apply.

Why Join Palette of Hope

This role gives students and early-career volunteers hands-on experience in nonprofit leadership, event planning, fundraising, community outreach, and mission-driven project management. Volunteers will help build creative fundraising experiences that support girls’ education and raise awareness about child marriage prevention.
